Typography and embroidery workshop

Workshop mixing typography and embroidery organised in 2024 at Saint-Luc Liège, on an invitation by Olivier Evrard. The students had to design letters with Turtle Stitch, an online visual coding tool that can export open source embroidery files. They had to think about the ductus of the letters (the drawing order of the components of a letter) and how to transcript it into a set of instructions Turtle Stitch will interpret. They were also encouraged testing different kind of embroidery stitches this tool offers and play with stroke thickness.
